Compost Discount

It’s a never ending story: we go grocery shopping and buy food we don’t end up eating. Food that goes to the trash after it spoils.
And when organic waste ends in landfills, the lack of air keeps it from decomposing properly. Releasing harmful methane gas. Only in the UK, 6.6 million tonnes of household food waste are thrown away each year. Scary right?
Tesco wants to help. Launching our Compost Club and giving you the choice of bringing food back to life.
Just bring your spoiled food to the containers at your closest Tesco. It will go in the form of compost to the local farmers supplying our fruits and veggies.
You will also be able to watch this food grow in your local Tesco, by being able to pick fresh fruits and veggies from our in-store garden.
Need a little more motivation?
- You’ll get to eat the food you help to grow.
- For each kilogram of waste you bring, you’ll get a
10% discount on our next harvest. - And for those feeling lazy; find tips, recipes, and home hacks with spoiled goods in Tesco’s webpage and social media.
